Our mother's recipes, your table by the sea

The story of a family restaurant in Batroun's old souk.

A family kitchen that opened its doors

Beit el Zaatar is a family restaurant in Batroun's old souk. The food on your table comes from the recipes of the owner's mother, the same dishes the family has always cooked.

Mornings start at the saj. Manakish zaatar and manakish cheese come hot off the fire, the way breakfast should be. At night the kitchen turns to grills and mezze: kafta grill, mixed grill, a mezze platter for four, fattoush, hummus, and knefe to finish.

Everything is served on a terrace that faces the sea, so you can take your time.
